The publisher Titan Books brings us the art book of the game Shadow of the Tomb Raider. As is usual in the books of this publisher, both the binding and the inside pages are of excellent quality.

The book contains a wealth of character design and environment design material. First, it focuses on the development of Lara Croft’s character, with the different “skins” and tools that appear throughout the story. The rest of the book then shows everything related to the tribes and locations that appear in the game. All the illustrations throughout the book are accompanied by comments and annotations that help to understand the particularities of each design and environment.

The concept art is excellent, especially that of the environments, which occupies the most space. We will be able to see different locations of the story shown with great detail and realism and concepts of several of the action scenes.

It is a great book for game lovers who are interested in the development of the franchise and have the ability to see the final result in the game compared to the initial concept that has served as a guide for 3d artists.

Like other books in the Tomb Raider series, it’s a great addition to our library and of course a source of inspiration for character design and environment design artists.
