Here we go again! After a long wait I already have in my hands the Cyberpunk 2077 art book, developed by CD PROJEKT RED and published by Dark Horse.

As you already know, there is a lot of expectation for this RPG game since it comes from the same studio that created The Witcher saga, which has won numerous awards. You can now reserve the game in your favorite store.

As usual in Dark Horse books, the finish and quality of the materials are quite good. The dimensions of the book are also usually the usual ones.

What do we find in the art book? Lots of color! We are really dealing with a book full of neon lights and vibrant, saturated colors. It is not a Matrix style game, of a dark and gloomy future. Here everything is brilliant, technological and something like cyber-disco-party. Concept art is fabulous and multidisciplinary. We can find paintover, 2d illustrations, 3d render, maps and a lot of text. Maybe too much for my liking!

The book, even being an art book, has quite a lot of “companion book” since it talks about many of the themes of the game, the areas, the classes … with which we will not only be able to appreciate the art but also it also helps us dive into history.

As usual we have concepts of the different characters, environments, vehicles, ships, logos … perhaps we need more material about weapons and robots / machinery. The general style is more painterly than realistic.

In conclusion, the book is very well serving as both an art book and a companion for history. At the end of this post you can find the standard edition and the limited one, with more goodies.
